GLENBRITTLE CAMPSITE & CAFE

Located on the rugged west coast of the Isle of Skye at the foot of the iconic Cuillin mountains and Loch Brittle beach, Glenbrittle Campsite & Cafe is the perfect antidote to the pressures of modern life. Founded in 1961, our award-winning campsite was voted No.1 UK Campsite by The Daily Telegraph, won Gold Campsite of the Year 2019 in The Great Outdoors Magazine Awards and was voted ‘No.1 of the 10 Best Cool Coastal Campsites’ in the September 2020 issue of Coast Magazine. The site is an ideal base camp for some of the finest rock climbing and hill walking in Britain and is popular with devotees of the natural site because it offers a wild camping experience with the added advantage of our premier onsite facilities.

OPEN 1 APRIL – 15 OCTOBER
We are open daily 8am to 7pm.
For all new arrivals, please check-in anytime between 12pm and 7pm. For late arrivals after 7pm, please see the Visitor Information Library next to reception and check-in the following morning. Check-out is by 11am. Cuillin Coffee Cafe serves hot food between 12pm and 4pm. We reserve the right to change these opening times and/or to restrict public access at any time without notice.

The site features 160 pitches in natural pockets spread liberally across the field and down towards the beautiful Loch Brittle beach. Our Cuillin Coffee Cafe has stunning views of the Cuillin and Loch Brittle along with a refurbished WC and shower block, laundry room, pot wash, chemical and grey waste facilities nearby connected by convenient vehicle access tracks and parking across the site. Of our 49 electric pitches, our hardstanding electric pitches (1-6) have close proximity to the facilities and the beach. These electric pitches are suitable for small campervans no longer than 6m. Our large grass electric pitches (7-49) have incredible sea and mountain views, and are suitable for large tents, campervans and motorhomes.

We also offer a superb campsite shop and cafe offering everything from our artisan speciality Cuillin Coffee, freshly baked bread, croissants, cakes, soup, legendary sourdough pizzas, spicy Mexican bean rolls and a mean hot chocolate to gifts and camping equipment. Our dedicated team of campsite wardens and baristas take great pride in giving our happy campers a warm Highland Welcome and excellent customer service. They are based on site 24/7 so there is always help on hand.

During the peak season months of July and August, the single-track road from Carbost to Glenbrittle Campsite can get very busy around the Fairy Pools car park between 2pm and 6pm. If you can avoid travelling down to us during these peak times, especially if you are in a motorhome, that will help to ease the pressure on the Highland Council road. Please note that due to the remote location of our campsite, the nearest 4G mobile phone reception is at the Fairy Pools and Carbost. We only have intermittent reception onsite and cannot provide Wi-Fi at this time. The perfect opportunity for a digital detox!
