Snowdrop days!

Snowdrop days!

When the first snowdrops start to appear in the castle gardens, it’s always a welcome sign that winter’s finally coming to an end. And to celebrate this advent of spring, in February we opened the castle gardens to all, for three snowdrop days.

The sun shone, the wind blew, and the showers came and went – perfect Skye weather for a wander in the castle grounds! It was lovely to see so many of you enjoying the gardens and coming away with your plant/bulb goody bags. And with our gardening and castle teams manning the café, there was a warm, buzzy atmosphere as we welcomed many of you through the doors for hot drinks and delicious cake.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to our snowdrop days, and their kind donations. A combination of delicious cakes and hot drinks, plant sales, and the generosity of our wonderful visitors has raised £1,879 for local charities, Skye Cancer Care and Lucky2BHere.

It would be lovely to welcome you again once we open on Friday, 1 April for the 2022 season.
